Professor: Course Available vs. Unavailable

As part of your course management, you can decide whether or not you'd like your course to be available for students to join. Some professors choose to make their course unavailable as they build their course content to ensure students do not enroll in the course prematurely.

Available Courses - students will be able to search and enroll in your course
Unavailable Courses - students will not be able to find or enroll in your course

Should setting your course to unavailable be important for you, simply identify your course layout below and follow the corresponding steps as outlined.

Old Top Hat - Course Available in the Dashboard
Click on the green checkmark, and in the pop-up menu that will appear, select Off (Unavailable). This will change the green checkmark to a red X and students will be unable to enroll in your course. You will have to make the course available before you'll be able to invite students to join your course however.

Old Top Hat - Settings in the Upper Header

Access your Course Setting by clicking on the Setting option in the upper header. In the General Information tab select Unavailable. This will ensure that students will be unable to enroll in your course. You will have to make the course available before you'll be able to invite students to join your course however.

New Top Hat

Access your Course Setting by clicking on the cog icon in your course header and selecting Course Settings. In the General Information tab select Unavailable. This will ensure that students will be unable to enroll in your course. You will have to make the course available before you'll be able to invite students to join your course however.
