Professor: Hints and Explanations in Questions (New Top Hat)
Hints and explanations allow you to provide feedback to your students as they use your Top Hat questions to review course material and prepare for exams! They won't be available for students to view until later in the summer, but you can start building them in your Top Hat questions right away!
Hints and explanations are optional and independent of each other in that one may exist without the other. The process of adding them is the same for each of the question styles, under the Review Options header within your question building framework, simply click where it says Add a hint for incorrect response or Add an explanation for correct response.
Hints are only available to students when the question is assigned to Review and will not be provided to students at any point when a question is being graded for correctness. The option to view a provided hint appears after a student submits an incorrect answer to the question.
Explanations are only available to students when the question is assigned to Review and will not be provided to students at any point when a question is being graded for correctness. After 2 incorrect attempts to answer the question in the Review status the student can choose to Show Answer to reveal the correct answer and the provided explanation.
