Professor: Can I give my teaching assistant access to my Top Hat course?
If you’re lucky enough to have teaching assistants (TAs) assigned to your course, you may find it helpful for them to be able to access your Top Hat course as well! First you need to decide what level of access you’d like them to have however: professor or student.
Giving TAs professor-level access will allow them to assist you in building content, reporting grades, and even facilitating the course in your absence if necessary. If you’d like to grant your TA professor-level access please following the instructions listed here: Adding a Co-Instructor or Teaching Assistant to a Course (Old Top Hat) or Professor: Adding a Co-Instructor or Teaching Assistant to a Course (New Top Hat)
Alternatively, student-level access will allow your TA to participate in the course as a student without having to pay for a subscription. They will be able to follow along with the Top Hat portion of your course throughout the semester, but will not be able to assist with content creation or grading. If this is the preferred level of access you’d like to grant your TA, please send an email to email@example.com requesting a student subscription code and providing us with your course join code.
