Student: Having Problems Finding Your Course?
There could be several reasons why you cannot find your course, see if any of the following applies to you:
1.) Select the Correct School
› The course search is limited by the school you pick when you sign up with Top Hat:
· To verify your current institution on a web browser: click on your name (top right-hand corner) and go to "My Account" to verify that you have the right school selected. Once done, go back to your Course Lobby and search again.
· To verify your current institution on mobile: click on the three horizontal bars in the upper left of your lobby screen, go to "My Account", and scroll down to see the school you have selected.
2.) Search for the Correct Course
› Sometimes the course name could be something like Econ 101 Fall 2013 and therefore looking for Introduction to Economics will not return any results. Try searching for your course using the Top Hat course number or even your instructor's name. Please ensure that you have the correct spelling when searching for your course :)
3.) The Course hasn't been Created yet
› Maybe you signed up too early and your instructor hasn't had a chance to activate the course yet. Check with your classmates to see if they have access to the course.
If you know your classmates have access to the course and you don't, you can also find the course by going to the direct Top Hat Course Link. When in class, look at your instructor's browser and you'll see a link at the top that looks like the following: www.tophat.com/e/123456. You can type this link in your own browser to directly go to the course!
The last 6 digits of that address can also be used to search for your course on web and mobile. This is called the Top Hat Course Code. The course code might have been shown in class by your professor or placed into your course syllabus:
