Professor: Using Demos (Old Top Hat)

Want your students to play interactive flash games

for homework?

The Demos module allows professors to assign animated learning games that may be graded. Demos can be selected from a pre-existing list or custom created and uploaded as Flash or Javascript animations.

To begin, click the blue Create button and then select Demo. Select a subject from the drop-down menus to browse the available pre-existing Demos. Demos are automatically named and given default grading of 0.5 points for correctness and 0.5 points for participation. Demos can be previewed by clicking on their name and selected to be added by checking the check-box next to their name.

To upload your own custom coded Flash or Javascript animation, select either flash or THM at the bottom of the pop-up window. Complete all fields including a unique and easily identifiable name.

If you would like to change the name or grading points for a Demo, select Edit Item when you click the status button (the book icon). You may now edit the name, description, timers and point weighting for the Demo.

Finally, click the Save button to finish.
